BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION Prepare daily work plans and direct and coordinate all shipping and receiving activities with the stock clerks.PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:1.Under direction of your immediate Supervisor, lead stock clerks in shipping warehouse activities to include: planning, picking, staging and loading all outbound shipments in an undamaged, safe, accurate, secure and timely manner in accordance with outbound shipping schedule; collaborate with warehouse manager and supervisors, truck drivers and shipping team to assure outbound shipping volume goals are achieved on schedule at all times; coordinate UPS, Fed Ex and LTL shipments; utilize SAP system tools and scanning tools to assure the accurate documentation of all outbound shipments and inventory transactions; prepare BOLs for truckload shipments. 2.Under direction of your immediate Supervisor, lead receiving warehouse activities to include: directing truck drivers carrying shipments to appropriate warehouse doors to be unloaded; coordinating forklift drivers to unload shipments; placing product in specified staging lanes; scanning in materials and tagging to indicate cleared for put-away; directing stock clerks to place product in appropriate warehouse location. 3.Under direction of your immediate Supervisor, assigning forklift drivers other miscellaneous tasks within the warehouse to include housekeeping, reorganization, etc. 4.Under direction of your immediate Supervisor, research invoicing discrepancies identified by Corporate Purchasing; report findings and correct errors; audit packing lists daily. 5.Under direction of your immediate Supervisor, train and develop forklift operators to include proper handling of products, unloading, put-away, picking, staging, loading and housekeeping; enforce OSHA regulations and safety rules to include wearing PPE, using seatbelts and dock restraints as well as trailer jacks/wheel chocks, etc.. 6.Maintain safe, clean and well-organized warehouse. 7.Ensure all documents and processes comply with SOX requirements and Company policies and procedures. SPECIAL PROJECTS As assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:·High School Diploma or GED; some college is preferred. ·1-2 years’ experience working with import-export documentation and HS codes. ·Ongoing continuing education as position requires. SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:·Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks. ·Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word). ·Ability to work independently. ·Excellent oral and written communication skills. ·Familiarity with international documentation, HTSUS, and Schedule B helpful. ·Previous experience working with Customs brokers, forwarders and international partners. ·Proficient in computer technology or have an ability to learn computer programs to develop skills LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):Office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone, printerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Typical office environment.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:·SAP knowledge/experience helpful ·Customer service skills Behavioral Characteristics: LeadsGeneral Summary This position is responsible to ensure that employees have been trained properly and re-trained as necessary, making training suggestions to the Supervisor/Manager. This position requires daily interaction with employees within the department by walking around the work area, ensuring that employees are on time, that schedules are met, reviewing work and that follow-up assignments are given as necessary to complete tasks. Incumbent is required to attend meetings or specialized training, including off-site training, as necessary.
