The Pricing Analyst III partners with the Category Management teams to develop pricing strategies and implement pricing tactics that drive incremental sales and profit. This role will co-develop and deploy promotional strategies and tactics within our Kum & Go organization. Some key responsibilities of this role include creating, updating, and optimizing pricing recommendations aligned with Kum & Go’s pricing strategies, and is responsible for effectively utilizing Kum & Go’s price optimization system, identifying enhancement needs and opportunities, and supporting their implementation.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform in-depth analysis of historical and planned pricing-activity, utilizing insights from the analysis to recommend both chainwide and localized pricing adjustments
- Identify, initiate, and lead changes in pricing strategies and tactics through analysis, insights, leadership, and influence
- Monitor and report on pricing KPIs and pricing results
- Communicate pricing updates to Support and Operations Teams ensuring clarity, understanding, buy-in, and successful implementation
- Complete competitive market rate studies, analyze results, identify, and lead action items
- Support pricing related projects and process improvement activities as well as the ongoing enhancements to the pricing optimization systems and tools
- Maintain strong relationships internal stakeholders and build trust by proactively providing credible and value-added insights, recommendations, and rationale
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven ability to facilitate and organize multiple tasks with varied priorities
- Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Comfortable with a faster than average pace and frequent changing environment
Other key requirements
- Strong background in pricing management/financial analysis in retail or service industries
- Experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
- Experience with trade promotion, retail performance and profitability analysis
- Relocation to Des Moines, IA required
