Crownpoint located in McKinley County, New Mexico. Founded in 1912 by Samuel F. Stacher, Crownpoint was established as an Indian Agency to serve the Navajo People in the Pueblo Bonit Agency in Northwestern New Mexico. The population was approximately 2,500 people at the 2019 census. It is on the Trails of the Ancients Byway, one of the designated New Mexico Scenic Byways. The Trail of the Ancients is a New Mexico Scenic Byway to prehistoric archaeological and geological sites of northwestern New Mexico. It provides insight into the lives of the Ancient Puebloan, Navajos, Utes and Apache people. Geological features include canyons, volcanic rock features, and sandstone buttes. Several of the sites are scenic and wilderness areas with recreational opportunities. A schoolhouse, agency office and powerhouse were first built to accommodate future planned establishments.

The Crownpoint Health Care Facility serves a population of 20,000 Navajo people. The staff consists of primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, at a 32-bed hospital. The daily inpatient load is nine; daily outpatient visits are 151; annual OB cases are 275; and annual ER cases number about 5,500. This facility is one of the primary providers of the inpatient, ambulatory care, preventive and community health, and environmental health services for members of the Navajo Nation and the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe.

Requirements (include but are not limited)
- Shall perform nursing duties and manage patient's needs
- Shall provide full range of Emergency services to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Shall exercise knowledge of the nursing process and its application to clinical practice in order to provide individualized, goal-oriented nursing care to the adult/pediatric patient.
- Shall exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the patient, regardless of background/ethnicity.
- Shall exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions required.
- Shall exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side-effects and complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions required.
- Shall analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.
- Shall work effectively and harmoniously within the health care team and with native patients and their families.
- Must have a degree/diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
- Must have thirty-six (36) months of nursing experience, with a minimum of twelve months (12) in the specialty required.
- Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
- It is mandatory that the applicant possesses current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and higher recommended Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC), Nurse Specialty Certification (e.g. CNOR, Fetal monitoring) is preferred.
