KVMR Business Sponsorship Manager Job Description
KVMR is a mission-driven, multimedia organization serving an audience through two radio stations across
14 counties in Northern California. KVMR provides community members opportunities to connect through the development and production of music, news, and public affairs programs that entertain, inform, and educate.
Job Summary: KVMR is seeking an experienced salesperson to represent our media organization. Over
200 local businesses support KVMR financially each year, so applicants must have excellent organizational skills. Fast, friendly communication with every client is essential, including processing accounts payable and receivable with assistance from KVMR’s Accountant.
The Business Sponsorship Manager manages all underwriting sales at KVMR. The Business
Sponsorship Manager crafts specific messages for each client, completes contracts and works with
KVMR’s Traffic Manager to meet deadlines.
Account interaction will be over the phone, over Zoom, and may require occasional travel to visit with clients in Nevada and Placer counties as needed.
Job Duties:
- Develop strategic sales relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Create, present and close multi-platform sponsorship opportunities
- Help clients meet content and production requirements and deadlines through account management
- Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals; provide reporting and attend meetings as necessary

● Previous sales experience
● Design or marketing experience
● Familiarity with Nevada County businesses and venues
● Familiarity with FCC regulations and restrictions governing Non-Commercial Educational (NCE) media underwriting. (Can be learned on the job)
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Drive and CRMs
● College degree preferred
Physical Demands:
● Constantly (more than 66%) talking, and using a keyboard/ten-key.
● Occasionally (1% - 33%) lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., kneeling, squatting, grasping, and holding.
Typical Working Environment:
Work is performed indoors in a radio studio/broadcasting setting with regulated heating and cooling.
Moderate noise levels consistent with a studio/office workplace. Travel/commute to locations other than the station’s primary location to meet with clients, attend community and station-involved events and meetings.
Equipment/Tools used:
This position will utilize general office equipment, including but not limited to: Computer, Broadcasting &
Recording equipment, Keyboard, Phone
Interaction/Supervision:
This position interacts with management, co-workers, business owners, community members and volunteers.
Hours of Work:
This position will be scheduled approximately 40 hours per workweek.

Compensation: Base salary plus 15 percent commission on sales
