- Process and manage payroll for employees accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain employee records and update changes in payroll system
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding pay
- Generate payroll reports for management review
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data

- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
- Proficiency in using payroll software
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to payroll, such as taxes and benefits

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and journal entries is a plus
