This dynamic leader will work to introduce new and disruptive tools and capabilities to our existing Veeva-based Commercial IT and Medical Affairs platforms and adjacent offerings.
They will partner with business and technology teams to apply new technologies such as AI and ML and/or extend existing solutions to deliver enhanced functionality and new capabilities. They will have a deep understanding of the Commercial and Medical Affairs business and how to apply new and extend existing technologies to solve business problems and gain efficiency.
Essential Functions:
* Lead Veeva initiatives and platform support in the North American Commercial and Global Medical Affairs spaces
* Partner with Operations and Franchise teams to ensure:
o a well-maintained platform
o an ambitious business-focused IT roadmap
o close IT/business partnership
* Educate, demonstrate, guide, and enable innovative solutions in various company operations and domains
* Champion the use of advanced data and analytics solutions to drive disciplined decision making and automation across the company
* Partner with regional and global stakeholders to elevate the technology posture of the enterprise
* Pilot the use of advanced technologies such as AI and ML to extend/enhance capabilities of existing platforms
* Support data engineering efforts in the efficient aggregation, detokenization and analysis of data
* Scope and staff projects, providing guidance, oversight or detailed contributions, as required
* Translate business needs into clearly-scoped projects and take a hands-on approach to steer solution design and implementation
* Evaluate options, benefits and approaches to execute needed architecture and organizational changes and recommend a path forward
* Secure community and senior leadership's acceptance through early engagement, partnering, and effective communication
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
Experience
At least 10 years of pharma/biotech IT experience with at least 5 years directly supporting Commercial and/or Medical Affairs organizations
Technical Skills
* 5 years of Veeva (e.g. CRM, Vault) implementation and support expertise
* Experience with modern technologies and concepts including:
o Common data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analytics techniques (e.g. Python, R)
o ETL & MDM
o Data "Lakehousing" and Big Data (e.g. Databricks, Hadoop, AWS) solutions
* Broad awareness and working knowledge of advanced technologies such AI, ML, NLP and Predictive Analytics and how they can be applied to existing platforms
* Experience managing / processing external data feeds (inbound and outbound)
* Understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, information security, compliance, and privacy requirements for delivering data and analytics projects in the US healthcare industry
