LB&B Associates Inc. is currently seeking MUTC Information Technology (IT) Technician/Systems Administrator in the Norfolk, VA area. Position is contingent upon contract award.
MUTC Information Technology (IT) Technician/Systems Administrator:
The IT Technician is responsible accomplishing all IT-related duties at the MUTC in addition to, all other functions necessary for the performance of this contract.
Skills
- This position requires a broad competency level with touches from the desktop, through to the server, in addition to network infrastructure and enterprise applications.
- Conduct initial troubleshooting of all IT-related problems, and make recommendations to the MUTC Site Administrator and Contractor Program Manager for problem corrections.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the MSC N6, MSC CTR and MSC GSD for all IT-related matters.
- Provide continued management, design development, maintenance, and refinement of existing MUTC informational web pages, databases. They shall also develop new databases, as required to meet the existing and emerging information reporting needs of the MUTC. Web design shall comply with requirements of Section 508 (Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Standards) or the replacement system.
- Programming experience to upgrade the content of training courses of instruction
- Course curriculum database development and maintenance.
- Local/Remote Network Management and configuration experience.
- Virtual Network Segmentation experience.
- Troubleshoot MUTC IT performance issues, investigate critical systems and application errors, capture traces, and analyze logs.
- Research, diagnose and resolve complex computer system and application issues as they arise
- Produce, maintain, and update technical documentation for MUTC.
- Support use of Microsoft Windows server operating systems, Exchange, DNS, and virtualization platforms.
- Support the use of the multi-site current Microsoft Exchange environment.
- Provide staff desktop and application support, including new user setups, line of business application support, and hosted application support services that are not provided by NMCI or MSCGSD.
- Experience with Windows Server Administration.
- Provide basic technical, analytical and trouble-shooting support to resolve minor IT discrepancies’ or questions; communicate technical information to non-technical end-users.
Additional skills:
- Assist the Government in both analysis and development of training curriculum using a systematic approach, and industry best practices for instructional design including all required Naval Education and Training Command processes.
- Develop MSC individual training utilizing Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular NO.03-14, and instructional system design principles in MSC Instructions.
- Develop trainee guides, instructor guides and multimedia as required.
- Update training class schedules for CIVMAR, CONMAR, Active and Reserve Military personnel attending MUTC courses of instruction on the MUTC Training Website.
Minimum education/experience required.
- Five (5) years’ experience with website design/layout principles and practices, coding best practices, web-based technologies, servers, software and standards, scripting languages, JavaScript, generating and revising web pages using web site editing software programs listed in this paragraph. Shall be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
