Job Description: Candidate shall have strong knowledge of aircraft production processes to include metal forming, machining, removal/installation/repair of aircraft structures, and capital support equipment. The applicant must be able to analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks or constraints driven by schedule, capacity, or sequencing. The candidate must be able to use applicable aircraft technical data to identify tool/tooling/support equipment requirements and facilitate design and/or disposition; analyze and improve aircraft removal/installation processes thru development of optimum assembly/installation sequencing, detailed step-by-step work instructions, visual aids, etc.
Essential Functions:
The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work cross functionally with key stakeholders (HDL, Planning, Quality, EHS, Facilities, ect.) to develop and implement of corrective measures/improvements.
This position also requires dedicated aircraft or machine shop support that includes resource planning and acquisition of ground support equipment (GSE) and government furnished equipment (GFE); hangar and facility CAD layout development & update; specialized tool research and acquisition; aircraft shoring design and fabrication; and fall protection implementation using work stands, scaffolding, custom fixtures, etc.
Applicant must be able to produce comprehensive 3D shop aid/fixture designs, and follow thru to implementation, including validation and follow-up, design/development of kits and detailed user instructions.
Must demonstrate sound written / oral communication skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have a Secret DoD security clearance.
Must be able to work overtime/non-standard shifts, as required.
Will need to be familiar with, or have a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge of, safety standards and regulations that govern aircraft painting processes, equipment and facility design.
Qualifications:
Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field, with minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications my be considered.
1 years experience with aircraft production processes and the equipment to support manufacturing and aircraft maintenance.
1 years experience CAD modeling.
1 years experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint and SAP.
