Job Description:
Responsible for assembly support and troubleshooting of opto-mechanical and electrical products for customer satellite needs. Troubleshoots and resolves yield issues and improves efficiency by reducing errors, defects, scrap, and rework. Interfaces with engineers and supervisors to develop and improve processes and documentation. Identifies root cause and helps implement permanent corrective actions. Adapts to changing business needs through agile thinking and ability to multitask according to specified priorities.
Essential Functions:
- Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
- Works to achieve operational targets within job area, including schedule and cost.
- Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
- Influence decision making with respect to projects assigned.
- Read, understand, and follow build documentation to complete tasks in accordance with program and company requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 industry standards.
- Lean/Six Sigma training.
- Fabrication and metrology of reflectors, lenses, composite and specialty metal structures (invar/titanium), opto/mechanical alignment.
- Familiarity with Gage, Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- CAD training (Solid Works/AutoCAD).
- Good computer skills, including fluency with Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
- Ability to read drawings and/or schematics per industry specifications.
- Strong hands-on and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Familiarity with a variety of hand and test tools/equipment, including torque wrenches and multimeters.
- Security clearance desired, but not required.
