LOCATION: Charter School (Main Campus and/or Kinder Academy)

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for providing counseling services for students, coordinating with families, teachers, and staff to assist students in developing skills in the areas of academic and social-emotional growth, and preparing students for career and college readiness.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Develop and implement a guidance program for students (coordinate individual/group counseling services, consult/collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents in understanding and meeting the academic, social-emotional needs of the students, etc.). E

2. Follow all duties of the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) model. E

3. Guide and facilitate the High School selection process (High School choice, scholarships, applications, etc.). E

4. Track and maintain data for LCCS Graduates through High School and beyond.

5. Assist with Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS). E

6. Serve as the school's assessment coordinator for all assessments as assigned. E

7. Prepare students for career and college readiness. E

8. Provide information of community resources. E

9. Practice and adhere to ethical standards of the counseling profession and follow legal, organizational, and contractual requirements, laws and policies. E

10. Attend meetings and professional development activities, as requested. E

11. Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all stakeholders (ex: parents, co-workers, etc.). E

12. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E

13. Perform other related duties, as assigned. E

14. Be a team player. E

The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, reach, stoop, bend, and walk. Infrequent lifting may be encountered.

Must be able to successfully pass TB, drug testing, and physical.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in classroom and school environments. Infrequent local/state-wide travel. Flexible hours required; as dictated by program needs.

REPORTS TO: Administrator (as designated)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Master's degree from an accredited school in School Counseling.

2. Valid WI DPI License in applicable area or ability to obtain/apply for emergency license within two (2) weeks from date of hire.

3. One (1) year of experience working with students strongly preferred.

4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

5. Able to demonstrate positive cultural intelligence with diverse groups and individuals.

6. Excellent critical thinking, organizational skills, and able to manage multiple priorities.

7. Excellent communication, verbal and written, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with others.

8. Knowledge and experience with experience in using Microsoft Office suite.

9. Transportation required.

10. Must be able to successfully pass criminal history background checks.

11. Must be able to work flexible hours based on program needs.
