Job Posting for Isolation/Quarantine Enforcement Officer at La Crosse County, Wisconsin
This is an on-call, temporary position to guard individuals and/or sites established for isolation/quarantine of those found to be at risk to the population relating to COVID-19. In the event an individual displays intent to violate communicable disease restrictions and/or orders, officers will be called in to enforce the orders and rules of the County Health Department or any local health officer.
Employees will be assigned to 12.5 hour on-call shifts, paid at $2.00/hr., to be ready to be called to the isolation/quarantine site. If called into the site, employees will work 8.5 hour shifts and earn $25.00/hr.
Employees will be provided training and will wear full personal protective equipment (gloves, N95 mask, face shield, gown).

Meets with individual in quarantine/isolation to communicate intent of presence and enforcement strategy.
Collaborates with onsite staff and/or assigned social worker to identify and resolve challenges to remain in quarantine/isolation.
Maintains presence and continually applies de-escalation techniques, as needed, to enforce quarantine/isolation orders.
Completes 214 Unit log for each shift/operational period.
Participates in communication briefing with incoming/outgoing guard, Health Officer and Onsite Coordinator at end/beginning of shift.
Follows self-quarantine recommendations of the Health Department during and after exposure to case-confirmed individual(s) at site.
In this public service position, employee is required to be courteous, cooperative and respectful at all times, with the public and clients. Physical demands: Majority of time is spent standing, sitting, speaking, hearing, and using near and far vision. Sits, stands, bends, reaches, reads, and writes intermittently throughout the day.Ability to treat homeless population with respect and kindness.
Ability to follow strict protocol to protect the safety and health of self and clients to the greatest extent possible.
Ability to effectively de-escalate using verbal and non-verbal communication skills, empathetic listening, supportive engagement, voice monitoring and ability to maintain a calm demeanor.•Must pass WI Caregiver Background Check. •Requires de-escalation experience. •Preference for experience in law enforcement and/or security.
