DescriptionJob Title:    Computer Support Specialist                Wage/Hour Status: Exempt                          Reports to: Director of Computer Services              Pay Grade 3: Administrative Management                                                                 Dept./School: Computer Services Dept.                                                                             District Primary Purpose:              To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement. Department Primary Purpose:     Provide effective computer networking, communication, computer programming and assist with the implementationof the district’s technology initiatives.    Qualifications:                                       Education/Certification:    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field  Experience:                           Three years experience in enterprise application development, application management or data reporting; (Tableau, Skyward SIS, ALIO FAS, preferred) Knowledge:                          Knowledge of ERP systems including functional and operational processes that support reporting, student management, financial management and human resource activities; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, utilized to lead projects, provide user support and training.   Major Responsibilities and Duties: Provide technology support to all district staff.Maintain district administrative systems, including operational maintenance, upgrades and feature improvements.Remain abreast of standard computer languages, coding methods and operations requirements.          Write, compile, analyze and interpret data and provide clear and concise narrative and graphic explanations of data; the maintenance of such reports and other documents as required.Train and support district personnel on software applications.Monitor the use of the in house request tracking system.Assist in installing, configuring, implementing, and training of district administrative computing software.Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on administrative systems and determine problem resolution strategies as necessary and on location. Document computer and systems operations procedures.Provide support to users for assigned systems within the student information system as well as assigned third party packages.Maintain or monitor scheduled tasks.Establish and work to maintain a positive working relationship among the district staff.Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment.Assist in establishing and maintaining district-wide system operating standards & procedures.Observe professional and ethical work standards and handle confidential and security sensitive information according to policy or law.Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).WORKING CONDITIONS:        Mental Demands:   Ability to communicate effectively; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to Handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions; interpret policy procedures and data; coordinate district computer functions.Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; ability to lift, carry and pull heavy equipment; ability to climb ladders to reach ceilings and roofs; repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer. POSITION WORKING DAYS:       226 DaysThis job posting describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
