Overview
Lab Link Testing is a start-up cannabis safety and compliance testing laboratory in Madison Heights, Michigan that provides analytical chemistry and microbiology testing services for cannabis cultivators, processors, and manufacturers as mandated by the State of Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). This cutting-edge laboratory is fully equipped with brand new instrumentation throughout, featuring the latest evolutions in analytical testing technology. In addition to the implementation of robust, manufacturer validated analytical testing solutions, Lab Link will utilize industry best-practices to become a leading provider of cannabis testing.
We are currently looking to fill the role of Field Sampler. Field Samplers report to the Laboratory Operations Manager and are responsible for collecting compliance testing samples from adult use and medical licensees while adhering to all state, regulatory, and internal laboratory requirements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a chain of custody traceable to a product source batch, entering sample information into Lab Link’s LIMS (QBench), assisting with sample preparation, and as described below.

Minimum Qualifications
· Employee must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
· At least 1 year of relevant cannabis-industry experience.
· Solid understanding of terminology, practices, protocols, and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting.
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

· Must pass mandatory pre-employment background screening.
· Must have clean driving record (no points)
Essential Functions
· Collecting compliance testing samples from cannabis license holders while adhering to all state, regulatory, and internal laboratory requirements
· Accurately recording information on laboratory chains of custody and metrc manifests
· Understanding all the various product types that may be collected from cannabis cultivators, processors, and manufacturers
· Performing all sampling procedures with extreme awareness of potential contamination and cross contamination sources
· Communicating with clients and the laboratory to ensure the correct samples are collected and assigned the appropriate tests
· Maintaining cleanliness of sampling equipment and ensuring field balances are calibrated and verified at the appropriate intervals prior to use.
· Creating a sample collection plan for each client site
· Transporting samples in company vehicles and ensuring maintenance is performed and up to date
· Documenting any potential quality issues encountered at the sampling site or during transport
· Training on laboratory procedures including sample homogenization and foreign matter inspection.
· Being able to lift 50 lbs containers.
Compliance and Safety
· Participating in routine QA/QC and compliance activities including proficiency testing, demonstrations of competency, audits, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
· Learning and maintaining compliance with all applicable legal requirements, standards, and procedures including, but not limited to, those within the Quality Management System, Compliance Process, Company Code of Conduct, and State of Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency Testing Guidelines.
· Performing work in a consistently safe manner, with knowledge of laboratory safety protocols to prevent injury due to chemical or biological hazards.
· Authoring and reviewing technical documents such as SOPs and work instructions.
· Maintaining appropriate records, logs, and documentation.

Physical Demands
· Extensive sitting while driving.
· Capable of standing continuously for up to 2 hours while collecting samples.

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
· Lift up to 50 lbs.
