We’re hiring an IT Intern!
LabCentral, the premier launchpad for early-stage biotech companies in Cambridge, is seeking a Facilities Operations Intern. You’ll be the best fit for this role if you are an inspired, systems-minded person. You should be a highly capable, self-directed individual who enjoys a healthy mix of problem-solving, getting things done, and customer-facing interactions. Bonus points if you get jazzed up by dealing with the unexpected or are a self-declared tinkerer.
This is a full time (40 hours/week) paid position that will report to the IT Associate with an ideal start date in May/June (start date flexible based on your needs). The entry-level internship will last 12 weeks. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the structure of our robust database
- Assist with configuration and deployment of physical infrastructure for our expansion project
- Be a part of the process to design and develop our new website and portal interface
- Assist the IT Team with day-to-day operations and helpdesk support
- Display a high-level of customer service and ensuring residents have a positive experience
- Develop an understanding of the LabCentral Community and interact with resident scientists
- Continue to build your skills for personal and professional growth
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Comfort with technology and some experience in a similar role providing IT support
- Training in or working towards a Certificate, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to work from our Cambridge office given safe COVID caseloads, with possibility of requirement to work from home if COVID transmission rates increase again
