Labcorp IT is actively searching for an experienced business analysis who will leverage their communication skills and software development lifecycle knowledge to provide guidance in development of business solutions within the advancing healthcare industry. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for generating functional and system requirements for our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). As a member of an agile team, the BA will be translating business needs and requirements into user stories. As the primary functional expert of the systems, the BA may also need to participate in Software Quality Assurance testing.
The role includes the following essential duties:
- Manage and own the business requirements and functionality in our critical LIMS applications to support the laboratory
- Work closely with business leaders and software development teams to develop requirements/user stories for the LIMS
- Provide estimates for work, with the ability to break larger projects into smaller achievable pieces
- Create user stories for agile projects
- Execute system and integration testing if needed by the team
- Work in an agile environment and help to review and prioritize product backlogs for software development teams
- Works independently on tasks and can be a self-starter.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise on the software systems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Certifications are a nice to have
- If not local to the Atlanta, GA area must be able to travel to office
- 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with progressively increasing responsibility and moderately complex systems.
- Experience with Requirements and/or User Story definition
- Experience with SQL and other tools to verify data in databases is a benefit
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible working environment
- Science background
Desired Additional Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of agile processes, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, story pointing and estimating, daily standups, and retrospectives
- Experience with FDA/GxP Software Validation processes and documentation
- Experience with Quality Assurance strategy, processes, planning, and execution
- Prior experience in a clinical lab environment or in the healthcare industry, with a solid understanding of lab information systems, genetics, bioinformatics, or biology
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
Pay Range: $77,002 - $125,500 annually
