LabCorp is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Steward to join our health system dynamic team to support our South Carolina market. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with expertise in diagnostics to contribute to the optimization and enhancement of our world-class diagnostics laboratory.
As a Laboratory Steward, you will play a crucial role in providing profound insights into diagnostics processing. Your focus will be on delivering quality care, reducing costs, and optimizing the complexity of our local test menus. This role involves leveraging data mining techniques to uncover valuable insights, pinpoint high-volume and high-cost testing, and identify trends that significantly impact patient outcomes and the cost efficiency of healthcare.

Work Schedule:
- East Coast Time Zone 8 am-5 pm
- Hours may be subject to change due to business needs.

- Remote Opportunity to support the South Carolina market.

Job Responsibilities
- Identify and understand frequently conducted tests, providing a detailed view of patient needs and diagnostic demands.
- Implement strategies for improved order optimization.
- Simplify diagnostic order sets, making them accessible and understandable for healthcare professionals and patients.
- Utilize insights to strike an optimal balance between maintaining high-quality patient care and managing costs effectively.
- Analyze data trends to forecast future demands, ensuring preparedness for shifts in patient care requirements.
- Streamline the diagnostic-to-treatment pathway to minimize unnecessary expenses and resource utilization.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to providers and leadership.
- Effective written communication skills by transforming data into actionable information.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science
- Previous experience Epic Slicer Dicer (Preferred), Crystal Report or SQL
- Highly proficient in Excel and other MS Office software, and Smartsheet.com
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree: Life Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, Nursing
- Laboratory or Clinical Data Analyst experience
