Do you like driving vans or trucks, and being on the road? Are you good with making pick-ups, transports and drop-offs on schedule? Your Day
The job responsibilities may include the following:
•sLoading and unloading cargo.
•sCommunicating with costumers to determine pickup and delivery needs.
•sReporting any incidents they encounter on the road to a dispatcher.
•sFollowing all applicable traffic laws.
•sReporting serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
•sKeeping truck and associated equipment in clean and good working order.
•sAccepting payments for shipments.
•sHandling paperwork, receipts, or delivery confirmations.
•sPlanning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
•sCollecting and verifying delivery instructions.
•sComplying with appearance standards and wearing a company uniform.
•sWorking weekends, holidays, or extended hours.
•sCarrying or lifting heavy objects as well as squatting, kneeling, bending, or crawling in awkward positions.
You will also need to have:
•sA valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
•sGood health, physical strength, depth perception, and ability to concentrate on job responsibilities.
•sAbility to understand and communicate information (English language is also essential).
•sCustomer-service skills, hen interacting with customers to make a good impression to ensure repeat business.
•sGood hand-eye coordination, when driving, to observe surroundings while operating a complex machine.
•sMath skills, to take payments, and be able to count cash and make change quickly and accurately.
•sPatience when driving through heavy traffic, remaining calm and composed.
•sHands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, etc.).
•sAbility to navigate city streets, roads, freeway, etc., and learn local areas.
•sAdaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
•sBe willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
