Job Title: Doctrine writers
Location: Fort Sill, OK
Duties:
- The candidate shall perform a variety of writing and editing assignments to provide quality publications in the development of Field Artillery doctrine. The work involves development of information and analysis to select and present information on a variety of subjects in a form and at a level suitable for those personnel in the Fires community.
- The Candidate shall perform quality control, edit, and research in the collection and preparation of the publications at a level suitable for the intended audiences.
- The candidate should review the publications for grammatical accuracy, format, consistency of data, its purpose, and Field Artillery, US Army, and DoD policies.
- The candidate shall use prescribed texts, worksheets, technical and field manuals, schematics, logic diagrams, and miscellaneous publications in preparation of ATP 3-09.42 and ATP 3-09.30.
- Shall follow instructional techniques and procedures specified in United States Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), (FS) Regulations: TR 25-36 (TRADOC Doctrine Publication Program), CADD Editors Guide, and other Doctrine required writing publications.
Education and Qualifications:
- Doctrine writer shall have at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or experience or equivalent and be a graduate of one of the following schools: Command and General Staff College, Captains Career Course, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, or the Senior Leader Course.
- Doctrine writers shall possess a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in any Field Artillery military occupational specialty. This experience shall include research analysis, coordination and preparation of publications, writing and editing required for independent research, cross-referencing, and verification.
- Coordination is required, particularly when information involves explaining new programs, and policies for implementation of new weapon systems employed.
- Shall have the skills and knowledge of Field Artillery 4 Weapon Systems and their associated fire support procedures.
- shall have recent experience (within the past 5 years) in Army training and doctrine development; possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to write, review and edit doctrinal publications associated with Observed Fire; Fire Support, and Fire Support for the Brigade and Below.
- The candidate shall provide Information Technology (IT) basic command lines knowledge of current Operating Systems, (Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint). Comprehend Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), data, basic, work, and worded swim lane flow charts and diagrams, and doctrinal tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- The candidate shall provide proof of Certificate of Completion from any qualified course.
- The Candidate shall possess a SECRET security clearance at the time of hiring to work on the ATP 3-09. 42 and ATP 3-09.30.
