What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gearbox Assembler position at Laidig Systems, Inc?
Laidig Systems, Inc. is actively interviewing candidates for a Gearbox Assembler. Laidig is looking for a positive, high energy, self-directed individual to join our growing team. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
The Gearbox Assembler would be responsible for maintaining the gearbox area and performing the following functions:
- Conduct quality conformance audits and inspections on gearboxes which range in size from 50 to 12,000 lbs.
- Prepare gearboxes for assembly in reclaimers
- Assemble rotary hydraulic unions, bearing assemblies, and other items requiring an arbor press or hydraulic press
- Rebuild gearboxes, and prepare returned items for restock
- Prepare, generate, and log rebuild reports and equipment testing data
- Monitor and initiate requisitions for gearbox parts and other rebuilding supplies
- Provide gearbox rebuilding cost estimates
- Personal tools are required – specialized tools will be provided by Laidig Systems
The Gearbox Assembler would also have the following secondary responsibilities:
- Assemble and test-run products
- Package and crate parts
- Fill out time sheets and work orders
- Cross train with Hydraulic/Electrical Technicians
- Advise Production Supervisor of any departmental problems
- Work in a safe and efficient manner and obey all rules and regulations
- Maintain a clean and well organized work area
- Work overtime as required
- Perform other activities as required
