TITLE: PARK MANAGER
REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Park Manager shall be responsible for the daily operation of the Club and promoting a positive and collaborative environment within the staff, caretakers, and members. The Park Manager shall have the authority to hire and train the number of employees as determined necessary to run the park effectively. The Park Manager shall have the authority to terminate, suspend or take disciplinary actions against employees and caretakers as necessary and update the board as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the successful daily operation of Lake Connor Park.
- Oversees Leads, Supervisors, and Managers involved in the Maintenance and Administration
- Supervises caretakers in their duties while serving LCP and promotes a culture of respect and collaboration.
- The Park Manager shall be responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all members, staff, and caretakers.
- The Park Manager shall ensure that all interactions within the park are conducted in a professional and respectful manner and take appropriate corrective action as necessary to address any behavior that is inconsistent with this expectation.
- Inspects park grounds and facilities to ensure proper care and maintenance of property and makes recommendations regarding needed improvements or measures necessary to protect the natural environment and park.
- Oversees the service, repair, and safety of park buildings, roads, trails, park forest health and facility grounds as required by local, state, and federal government, ordinances, and regulations.
- Works with appropriate Snohomish County Health and other departments; outside contractors, and businesses as needed to ensure proper guidelines and regulations are followed regarding but not limited to PUD, water, permits, tree removal, park facilities septic, plumbing, electrical, construction of new facilities, and the park’s Conditional Use Permit.
- Works directly with the Board of Directors to ensure that the park’s Bylaws and Rules & Regulations, and policies are followed.
- Ensures active monitoring of park radio and ensures timely response to emergency calls at all times. Calls in outside help such as police or fire department as needed.
- Perform annual inventory of all park owned property including equipment, tools, supplies, furniture in, but not limited to the office, Pole barn, kitchen, Clubhouses, and ballpark. Maintains accurate records of purchases and disposal of property.
- Oversees a checklist of vehicles and other equipment maintenance.
- Completes annual performance reviews of Park employees in October. Assures that the Bookkeeper/HR maintains accurate personnel records in personnel files such as record of attendance, reprimands, grievances, correspondence from employees, performance reviews, wage increases, and promotions.
- Attends monthly Board of Directors business meetings and member business meetings. Prepares a Park Manager Report for the meetings and articles for the TTT.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to provide excellent service to park members.
- Communicates immediate issues with BOD President.
- Other duties as required.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Leadership styles that motivate employees and inspire teamwork.
- Problem solving associated with park operations.
- Natural resource management principles
- Requirements and rules, regulations, ordinances, and statutes pertaining to the park.
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to:
- Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others.
- Communicate in an understandable manner through a variety of means of communication such as orally, written, and email with members, employees, or the public whether individually or in a group setting.
- Resolve disciplinary problems.
- Comprehend and make inferences from written material.
- Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job setting.
- Produce written documentation and clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Ensure the confidentiality of information regarding employees, members, Board of Directors, and exclusive park information.
Additional Requirements:
- Prefer to be physically capable of operating and ensuring the maintenance of park vehicles, equipment, power tools and facilities in a knowledgeable and safe manner.
- Possess a valid Washington State driver's license with an acceptable driving record; valid CPR and First Aid Cards.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience.
- Demonstrate a professional, positive, and helpful attitude when interacting with members, guests, employees, and members of the Board of Directors.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly performs activities such as standing, sitting, walking, squatting, or bending.
- Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move heavy objects up to 40 lbs. or with two-person lift assist.
- Use hand and power tools and some heavy machinery.
Work Conditions:
- Exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, outdoor elements and other
hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
- Use of office equipment such as computer, scanner, copier etc.
