What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Lake County?
Scheduled Hours: 40 hours a week
- Monday to Friday
- Monitors the flow of data to and from funding sources using EDI or other means as required; reconciles feedback from funders regarding the actual data submitted.
- Generates a variety of statistical and management reports for state and federal agencies and Health Department users regarding demographic information, service utilization trends and program productivity.
- Examines historical/clinical and financial transactions for the purpose of generating accurate and reliable financial analysis.
- Prepare data for budget preparation and provide key support to program managers during the budget process.
- Understand the HRSA 330 grant requirements and eligibility of expenses for accurate preparation of the annual county budget and 330 grant budget.
- Analyze salary actual to budget data and provide regular projections to management.
- Creates and maintains procedure manuals to support business functions and provide direction and technical assistance as needed to the support staff and providers involved in data collection.
- Assists in the interpretation and analysis of management data to maintain accuracy of the data.
- Assists in the analysis of program revenue and expense streams and trends comparing budget and actual data on a regular basis.
- Correct any data errors by working with Finance and then provide training or other corrective actions as needed to prevent future errors.
- Creates and provides management with the reports specifying and comparing factors affecting financial and operational performance including collections, reimbursement and profitability of the organization.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- The position requires an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree with a major in accounting or Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, Business or Accounting.
- With an Associate’s Degree, requires seven (7) years minimum experience in an accounting or finance department with responsibility for analyzing financial information.
- With a Bachelor’s Degree, or a Master’s Degree, requires five (5) year’s minimum experience in an accounting department analyzing general ledger accounts, payroll data, accounts receivable and other financial information.
- Experience with a large and diverse healthcare organization is preferred.
- Experience performing auditing procedures for internal control procedures is required.
- Experience using Oracle ERP or NextGen electronic payment management system is also preferred.
- Experience with state or federal grant reporting is preferred.

Salary : $59,729 - $69,864
