What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Instructor Assistant GSRP position at Lake Orion?
This position is school year only, 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Have, at a minimum, a CDA credential and have been trained in early childhood development
- Have a focus on preschool development - required
- Training in High Scope Curriculum
- Knowledge of Child Observation Record
- Ability to work effectively with preschool children, parents, and co-workers
- Awareness of child development theory and practices
- Ability to develop appropriate curriculum
- Ability to treat children with kindness and respect
- Self-motivated; independent; reliable and responsible
- CPR and First Aid Certification - required within 3 months of hire
- Continuing education 24 hours or more per year required
- State and Federal Fingerprinting requirements met
- Michigan Criminal Clearance completed
Job Duties
Support Instructor in all the following:
- Instruction of preschool children
- Assist in the develop daily schedule of activities and lessons
- Respond quickly to emergency situations
- Ensure compliance with GSRP standards
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
- Data entry into computer base
- Attend meetings as required by program
- Keep accurate records
- Follow classroom curriculum policies and procedures as prescribed via State licensing and GSRP standards
- Maintain student records as needed
- Prepare and participate in goal setting and data meetings
- Complete data entry of the ongoing assessment three times per school year
- All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
