Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Cathodic Protection Field Supervisor to lead our CP team in the Northeast US!


The Cathodic Protection Field Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for managing project logistics necessary to complete fieldwork safely and efficiently. The Field Supervisor will provide leadership that is consistent with the LSC model of integrity and quality. The role will be responsible for communicating between project managers and technicians, ensuring LSC and client guidelines/policies are followed, organizing project documentation, and QA/QC of data collection methods.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the safety of crew(s) and instilling a safe work attitude by adhering to LSC and client guidelines and procedures
  • Support and assist training execution for technicians
  • Work with department supervisors and managers to develop and execute IM’s goals and objectives
  • Participate in hiring new employees and coordinate onboarding activities
  • Develop onboarding evaluation procedures
  • Work with other supervisors, schedulers, and business lines to efficiently staff and oversee projects
  • Develop and maintain technical comprehension and growth records for employees within the group
  • Work closely with employees to ensure growth is aligned with the goals of the IM team and the organization
  • Ensure adherence to company and client policies and expectations
  • Promote overall utilization of employees with respect to company goals
  • May be required to manage or lead projects
  • Ability to identify and follow up on project opportunities for all business lines within the company
  • Setting strong examples of punctuality and professionalism both in the field and with all forms of client communication; ensuring that team members always follow suit
  • Promoting high levels of quality in workmanship
  • Ensuring compliance with all technical procedures and guidelines
  • Communicate project scopes, schedules, and performance objectives
  • Knowing Time & Expense codes for which to apply hours and equipment and communicating this to the crew; providing feedback to project management on work breakdown structure
  • Review & Management of Daily Reports, Logs, and other project-specific documents
  • Management of Data by ensuring initial review and submittal in a timely fashion
  • Reviewing data and final reports from project inception through project closeout; providing input to project management prior to client deliverable
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings
  • Communication and adherence to all company policies
  • Reviewing documentation of site safety meetings (Tailgate) and daily performance of JSA’s and hazards evaluation to provide feedback and support, as required
  • Document and Report any incidents, near misses, and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensuring the crew has project-specific PPE, equipment, tools, and vehicles that are in safe working condition
  • Translating project deadlines and requirements to field execution level and communicating that with the crew, making sure each member is aware of their responsibilities
  • Adjust field schedule during a mobilization to maximize efficiency and facilitate changes/additions to project scope by working with project managers if changes need to be made due to client communications, field conditions, equipment malfunction, data results, etc.
  • Make recommendations for equipment and participate in the annual budgeting process
  • Make recommendations for training and certifications for technicians
  • Coaching and training crew members in technical tasks and maintenance of company property while promoting a team-based environment
  • Ensuring compliance with all technical procedures and guidelines
  • Maintaining and ensuring OQ records for reports are up to date and onsite
  • Work with other LSC departments to secure billable work for technicians during seasonal lulls
  • Work in the field as a technician during peak workloads and for training purposes


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the field with a combination of cathodic protection or integrity management industry experience
  • Supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2)
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build positive working relationships
  • Knowledge of ethical behavior, business practices, and goals of the organization
  • Well-organized and able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Analytical skills with the ability to dissect problems and quickly develop solutions
  • Creativity to develop new and unique ways to improve the operations of the organization
  • Knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements (CFR 49 Part 192 & 195)
  • Knowledge of NACE standards and test methods
  • Ability to train, direct, and teach team members
  • Strong knowledge of Cathodic Protection theory, applications, test methods, measuring equipment, industry standards, LSC standards, and client standards
  • Ability to use computers and other office equipment
  • Ability to identify employee strengths and needs for improvement
  • Oil & Gas Pipeline industry experience preferred

Salary : $54,800 - $69,400
