Primary Function :
Under the direction of the Director of Finance / Comptroller and the Payroll and Benefits Manager, I perform payroll calculations and manage changes for processing while efficiently handling daily work pressures.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Payroll Management :
- Time Clock System Management : Managed and coordinated the time clock system, including setup, handling missed time, resolving punch discrepancies, and providing training.
- Employee Assignments : Processed and audited employee assignments for new hires, separations, transfers, and changes.
- Payroll Processing : Assisted in preparing, completing, and processing semi-monthly, monthly, district, and supplemental payrolls, including processing payroll for auxiliary staff.
- Payroll Software Utilization : Used payroll software to maintain payroll records and required reporting accurately and promptly.
- Timesheet Calculations : Calculated employee timesheets to determine leave taken, comp time, overtime, supplemental, and dock pay.
- Timecard Audits : Audited timecard calculations for accuracy and reviewed / inputted timecards manually and via electronic import into payroll software.
- Daily Balancing : Ran journal entries and balanced all entries daily.
- Leave and Dock Calculations : Determined employees who have used leave over the amount earned, calculated the dock amount, and entered absence deductions into payroll software.
- Compensatory Time Reporting : Ran compensatory time reports before payroll processing and made corresponding pay entries.
- Confidentiality Maintenance : Maintained employee confidence and protected payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Benefits Insurance :
- Collaboration with Benefits Specialist : Worked with the Benefits Specialist to ensure timely deductions for insurance.
- Benefit Deduction Inquiries : Assisted with resolving benefit deduction inquiries.

Education / Licenses / Experience :
