JOB FUNCTION:

Functions as the overall leader of Connect Groups (Small Groups, Life Groups and Classes)
Provides oversight and accountability for the Vineyard Kids Director and Youth Ministry Director
Shares in overall pastoral responsibilities, such as pastoral care, counseling, preaching, and facilitating weddings and funerals

RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONNECT GROUPS
Encourage a culture that fosters and facilitates the formation of Connect Groups
Oversee and provide leadership and development of new and existing Connect Group leaders
Host Connect Group Leaders gatherings on a regular basis to encourage, envision, equip and Connect leaders
Plan, oversee and execute the development of 2 Connect Group semesters per year
Strategize and implement assimilation of new attendees into Connect Groups
Lead in curating the small group curriculum

PASTORAL
Provide pastoral counseling (including, but not limited to premarital, crisis, grief, spiritual formation, and marriage/family)
Manage and oversee wedding and funeral requests
Responsible for coordinating pastoral staff to perform weddings and funerals




MINISTRY OVERSIGHT
Provide regular accountability, leadership development, and support for the Vineyard Kids Director and Vineyard Youth Director
Oversee and/or recruit leaders for Men's and Women's Ministry, including special events, conferences, and LA Moms

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, amp; ABILITIES:
Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven and multi priority environment
Maintain confidentiality
Dependable, detailed, organized, and a good time manager
Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal and written communication skills
Coordinate a staff of people (encourage, oversee, guide and assist)
Must be willing to continue to grow and learn skills that will lend itself well to this role
Friendly and sensitive to a wide range of people from all different age, racial, gender and socio economic backgrounds
Excellent administrative, communication amp; computer skills
Must have the ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from others
Must be faithful and have a "whatever it takes" attitude
Must be highly professional
Must have experience in public communications, team building, training and management
Must be able to preach and/or teach
Natural passion for God and Small Group community
Natural passion for the development of leaders
Ability to lead others and create/sustain organizational structures
Familiar with church growth and health
Loyalty and dedication to LAVC, mission, values amp; leadership





EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in related field
3 5 years proven experience managing and supervising a staff of volunteers and discipling and caring for people in a pastoral context
Seminary/theological training preferred but not required
Previous experience in small group development, oversight and multiplication
Proven experience in casting vision and leading missional disciple making communities
