The LeFrak Center at Lakeside inside Prospect Park is currently seeking a Beverage Manager with 5 years experience. This position will be responsible for managing the beverage program while provide high-level service to our guest during day-to-day operations and special events. Self-motivated, hard-working individuals who possess culinary and operational knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Position Description:
- Build and manage the beverage program.
- Oversee all aspects of the bar.
- Possess a full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilize suggestive selling techniques.
- Train and manage bar staff.
- Practice proper cash handing procedures.
- Maintain satisfaction by answering questions thoroughly, handling complaints, and providing specific item suggestions and information about the establishment.
- Conduct inventory of all beverage items on a rotating and weekly basis to ensure appropriate stock levels and cost control.
- Keep accurate and organized records.
- Follow proper ordering procedures to maintain appropriate par levels of all bar related products with Executive Management.
- Maintain high-level of knowledge regarding the Company’s products and programming and communicate properly to guests.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by Company policy and NYC/NYS Regulations Laws.
- Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program/by the NYDOHMH.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures as established in the Handbook and exudes a genuine kindness and commitment to hospitality guest satisfaction while ensuring best financial practices within the company.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience as a bartender and 3 years as a beverage manager - preferably in NYC or another large City is required; or equivalent combination of education experience suitable to ensure success within the role.
- Advanced understanding of restaurant and bar operations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Highly detail oriented and exceeding organized.
- Ability to manage a dynamic and ever-changing workflow.
- Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
- Proficient in ordering, inventory, and invoicing procedures.
- Capable of managing all controllable expenses.
- Comfortable training staff and implementing safety protocols and steps of service.
Educational Requirements:
- Must possess an active NYS Food Handler’s Card -and- TIPS/eTIPS On-Premise Certification.
