What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Volunteerism and Employee Giving position at Lam Research?
Reporting to the Director of Community Relations (CR), the Volunteerism and Employee Giving Manager is a hands-on, motivated contributor to the realization of Lam’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy and supporting initiatives. The Volunteerism and Employee Giving Manager is responsible for implementing and scaling our global social impact programs focused on employee charitable participation initiatives, supporting community relations activities, and supporting other ESG objectives in demonstration of Lam’s commitment to act with purpose for a better world.
The Volunteerism and Employee Giving Manager facilitates meaningful employee charitable engagement in our communities, leveraging current matching gift and volunteerism programs and implementing innovative strategies to scale participation, and works collaboratively with domestic and international teams, internal stakeholders, and community partners in program implementation. This contributor also supports grant administration for foundation giving programs and provides support for other key ESG engagement activities, objectives and communications including the production of Lam’s annual ESG Report.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement key, global employee participation initiatives that engage employees and drive to annual participation targets, implementing best practices to ensure success Develop and execute global volunteerism and giving campaigns aligned with our social impact platform and strategy Provide guidance/resources for employee self-organized team volunteerism, and support regional employee team volunteerism as needed Cultivate and coordinate a global network of employee “champion” teams to help support activism • Manage select local CR events, coordinating with community partners and volunteer participants • Manage global employee giving and participation platform including matching gift system administration, content and event management, vendor relationship, and reporting capabilities • Provide employee engagement program participation results Report content through accurate data tracking and management Identify trends and opportunities from participation data • Manage implementation of and drive participation in employee sponsored grant program – communication and participation campaigns, application and review process, employee interface, administration, and reporting • Deliver outstanding customer service as the main point of contact for employee inquiries • Support CR communications strategy, planning and content development, and executing on plans • Responsible for CR content management for external and internal websites • Provide support for foundation grant submission, administration processes, and grant recipient relationship management • Support creation and maintenance of “impact” data collection for key grant program initiatives • Domestic and International travel – 25%
Additional ESG Activities • Provide critical support for the development and production of Lam’s annual ESG Report - Support ESG Report benchmarking - Gather, compile and organize key report content from ESG partners - Conduct relevant interviews and employee outreach, and support copy review • Support content development and planning for internal/external ESG report communications, including development of ESG Corporate slide deck • Support other ESG employee participation activities– EcoChallenge, Environmental stewardship awards, Earth Day events • Provide additional ESG project support as needed

Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in related field • A minimum of 8-10 years of professional, relevant experience in corporate social/employee giving and volunteerism programs • Previous experience with corporate philanthropy • Demonstrated experience in a large, matrixed global organization
