Position Summary

TheDriver transports equipment and/or goods within the designated area.

Familiarity with warehouse and facility equipment storage areas in which equipment, machinery and parts are stored so as to easily identify items to be delivered.

Deliver equipment, machinery and parts between any of the stores.

Pick up equipment, machinery and parts from warehouse and deliver to customers.

Coordinate completion of service tickets and scheduling deliveries.

Move completed packages to loading dock for transit.

The essential responsibilities require the following Physical/Mental/Sensory Abilities:

Constantly moves about to coordinate work. Move about inside and outside buildings. Also maintains a stationary position at certain times during the workday.

Typically bends, stoops, crouches and reaches on a regular basis.

Reach over head, behind and across body.

Ascend/descend stairs.

Climb in to/out of/onto vehicles, truck and trailer beds, and loading docks.

Detect by touch and smell.

Operate, move, install, remove, and/or transport equipment, machinery and parts, including grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive motion.

Lift up to 40 pounds (unassisted).

Observe and identify surroundings. Judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are. Ability to distinguish colors.

Distinguish sounds. Comprehend and exchange detailed information, including conveying it to others accurately, loudly, and/or quickly.

Concentrate, recognize, remember, reason, analyze and make decisions.

The essential responsibilities include working under the following Working Conditions:

Subject to exposure to fluctuations in weather, temperature (including extreme heat or cold), air quality, humidity, and wet conditions.

Works indoors and outdoors and may be subject to high levels of noise, heights, dust, fumes, dirt, grime and grease normally associated with this type of work.

Subject to frequent interruptions.

Expected to report to work on time and work the full established schedule. May work, when necessary, beyond normal working hours.

Will travel in local area during work day (including use of personal vehicle). Subject to operator decisions regarding high volume traffic and varying route patterns.

Involves minimal risk to physical and/or mental health and safety 25% to 50% of the time. (e.g., exposure to heavy equipment, etc.)

The essential responsibilities require the following Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of outdoor power and landscaping equipment.

Proficient oral and written communications skills (ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English).

Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in customer relationship management. This includes being polished, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and patient.

Detail oriented with ability to organize shipments well for delivery process, assimilate and organize applicable paperwork and determine appropriate delivery routes for efficiency.

Good judgment.

Good organizational and time management skills (ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively adapt actions to changing priorities in order to meet deadlines).

Good sense of direction; alert and aware of their surroundings on the road. Follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Level of Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Professional Licenses/Certifications

Maintain valid Driver’s License (issued from state in which they live) as well as safe, acceptable driving record.

Level of Experience

At least 1 year of related work experience.

Work Contacts

Primary contacts are with supervisor and co-workers.

Supervision

Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment with routine supervision. Does not supervise other employees.
