As part of DLCD’s mission, in partnership with community members and local governments, we foster equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and vibrant communities, while protecting our natural resources legacy for current and future generations. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Land Conservation and Development Commission and to assist the Director’s Office. A day in the life. As executive assistant, you will: Often be the face and first point of contact for the director’s office. Manage commission meeting preparations, delivery, and wrap-up (Note: Commission meetings are offered in hybrid form and supported by IT). Track and communicate commissioner recruitment, confirmation, terms, travel, and logistics. Manage meetings for the advisory groups to the commission, such as the Local Officials Advisory Committee. Serve as part of a team to schedule meetings, events, and travel for the Director’s Office. The experience must include technical or analytical duties in the management of program goals and objectives; performing program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or performing research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience. Preference may be given to individuals with experience in a specialty area specific to the position opening. We’re Also Looking for: Interest in the work of DLCD and LCDC Professional-level communications, both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information A self-starter, anticipating meeting and event logistics Comfort using on-line tools such as Teams and Zoom Confidence interacting with senior-level public officials Excellent equity-driven internal and external customer service skills Positive peer relationships and/or leadership Lived or professional experience serving individuals from historically and currently underserved and under-resourced communities. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is a PERS participating member, they will have the base salary increased by 6.95% and pay the 6% employee contribution to PERS. Successful candidates who are not yet a PERS participating member, will receive the 6.95% pay increase and begin the 6% employee contribution upon participating in PERS. DLCD employees are eligible for step increases on an annual basis, up to the top of the classification salary range.
