This role is integral to ensuring accurate survey data is processed, and it serves as a foundation for career growth within the surveying field.
Key Responsibilities
Field Survey Support
- Review documents provided by client and combine with documentation provided by Project Manager/PLS that will be used prepare a comprehensive field package.
- Prepare deed sketches, subdivisions, easements, road maps, and other necessary items that will be used in the overall base-map or project plan.
- Assist with survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, review of title data, record drawings research, and final deliverable revisions/review.
- Draft survey exhibits and deliverables of various types.
- Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents
- Create, update, and maintain company easement and deed sketches in a basemap.
- Interpret deeds, maps, field notes, etc. to ensure proper location of boundaries and existing conditions.
- Collect and inputs field data into correct folder and systems.
- Prepare working drawings of field survey for review by RPLS to determine property boundaries.
- Determines boundary easement location between private and company ownerships.
- Prepares maps, sketches, plats, and metes & bounds descriptions of project parcels.
- Prepare survey deliverables and right of way plans.
- Prepares legal reports, maps and plats for survey team and business partners.
- Defines routes, areas, and sites for fee and easement acquisitions.
- Assist in the transfer and organization of field data into digital formats for further processing.
- Collaborate closely with the Crew Chief and crew members to efficiently complete survey tasks and meet project objectives.
- Coordinate client needs with Project Manager, Crew Chief, Field Manager and other team members.
- Communicate with other employees regarding project schedules.
- Ensure all projects are conducted to a high standard which meets or exceeds client requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Field experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not required.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Valid driver's license and the willingness to travel to different job sites.
