As an intern, you will join over 5,000 talented individuals who are leaders, critical thinkers, accountable, curious, flexible, and results-minded all driving toward the same goal - to delight customers and drive sales through multiple channels. In addition, you will join a diverse group of individuals from a variety of colleges, universities, and areas of study. Highlights of our internship program include:

Our internship program is designed with future leaders in mind and serves as a pipeline for top talent. Participants in our program receive one-on-one mentorship while working alongside Human Recourse professionals. You will get hand-on experience interviewing candidates and onboarding new hires. You will support recruiting efforts for summer & holiday hiring.
- Act in the capacity of recruitment assistant (May - November) assisting with full cycle recruitment processes and other Human Resources administrative functions.
- You will have responsibility for on-campus recruitment at UW-Platteville (August - November).
- Recruitment of approximately 100 students from UW-Platteville to work at Lands’ End; the successful candidate will independently drive the recruitment efforts and demonstrate innovative ideas and enthusiasm for the initiative.
- Includes working at UWP Welcome Weekend – held over Labor Day Weekend (must be available all weekend). You will promote Lands’ End as an employer of choice.
- Participate in meetings with UWP staff.
- Energetically and actively recruit UWP students while on campus for three weeks of on-campus recruitment & three weeks of on-campus interviews in the fall.
- Positively promote the Lands’ End organization and products to prospective candidates and within the community.
- Special Projects:
- Organize volunteers and walk in the Platteville Dairy Days Parade – Typically First Saturday in September (must be available)
- Organize volunteers and walk in Dodgeville Farmers Appreciation parade – Typically Second Sunday in July (must be available)
- Organize volunteers and walk in additional area parades as planned by the Department.
- Staff recruitment table at various Lands' End events.
- Accurately complete new-hire onboarding with employees
- Prioritize work in coordination with intern project responsibilities.
Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree with a Human Resources Major or Business Major with Human Resources focus/minor. Must have human resources knowledge/education.
- Organized & detail oriented.
- Established work history, preferably within recruitment, human resources, or sales & marketing.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, initiative, and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Great customer service skills with ability to oversee confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficient in using MS Excel, Word, Outlook
- School or organization involvement with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Participation in student chapter of SHRM is a plus.
- Currently enrolled as a student at University of WI, Platteville strongly preferred.
