Reporting to the IT Systems Administrator, The IT Support Specialist (part-time, 30 hours per week) will support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all user hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training and assistance where required.
Provide phone, email and in-person support to users in the areas of email, computer operating systems, desktop applications for all types of computer systems, and applications. Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware/software, all types of computer systems and printer problems.
Job Responsibilities
- This position will serve as a potential first or second point of contact for our end users seeking technical assistance.
- Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all user hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
- Evaluate, prioritize and respond to service requests with a timely resolution.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs. Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
- Provide service desk and technical support to users while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Education or knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in troubleshooting and Tier 1 end user support.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
