Job Intro
As the HR Manager at Lannon Stone Products, your mission is to cultivate and sustain our core values and culture while overseeing all HR processes and procedures. You serve as the linchpin for fundamental HR functions, including employee relations, leave management, discipline, payroll, benefits, compliance, and the administrative facets of safety. Your role is pivotal in supporting our Talent Acquisition & Development professional, collaborating regularly to optimize our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Leave Management
- Anticipate and address people-related needs, fostering a proactive partnership with leaders & front-line employees across all departments.
- Collaborate on personnel risk management decisions in alignment with state and federal regulations and our company culture.
- Coach & support management on corrective actions, including investigations, conflict resolution, documentation, and recommendations after reviewing prior warnings.
- Administer and monitor FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, and Unemployment Compensation.
Payroll & Benefits
- Administer the bi-weekly payroll process for approximately 130 employees across multiple remote sites, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, tax obligations, and best practices.
- Lead the annual benefits renewal process with brokers and make recommendations to LSP's leadership team.
- Administer all aspects of LSP employee benefits, including enrollment, open enrollment, COBRA, and benefits education & inquiries for employees.
Safety & Compliance
- Plan and coordinate a monthly safety meeting program, fostering a safety-first culture.
- Administer an MSHA Part 46 training program, including record maintenance.
- Analyze industry data and narratives to identify opportunities for new training initiatives.
- Assist in MSHA inspections and annual site audits, supporting our field safety program and culture.
- Conduct new miner training and provide resources for monthly safety meetings and tailgate talks.
Leadership, Forward Thinking
- Collaborate with the HR team and company leaders to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure HR strategies align with the organization's vision, values, and strategic plans.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of policies, procedures, and the Employment Handbook.
- While not currently managing, this role is expected to grow to manage 1-3 direct reports within 5 years.
Other tasks as assigned
- Selecting and collaborating with contractors & vendors related to HR functions.
- Posting internal announcements and appearing at meetings to represent HR.
- Compiling data and maintaining HR-related key performance indicators.
- Supporting ongoing performance management cycles, PIPs, alongside the Talent Acquisition & Development professional
Experience & Requirements
- 3 Years of prior leadership experience.
- 5 Years of related human resource experience, with a preference for generalist experience in manufacturing, construction, or agriculture.
- Possess a sense of urgency necessary to serve people who are working in a hazardous and challenging field environment daily.
- Able to express strong points of view and receive honest and open feedback, working collaboratively to drive for the best results
- Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Adherence to strict confidentiality.
- Proficiency in multitasking in a constantly changing environment.
- Commitment to self-development and staying current with HR trends and laws for compliance.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
