Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our MDVIP medical practice team. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our physician in providing personalized and comprehensive healthcare services to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Assist physician during patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for medical appointments, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and updating electronic health records.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis, and prepare specimens for processing.
- Conduct routine medical procedures, such as EKGs and spirometry tests.
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare measures.
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and diagnostic facilities as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to stay updated on medical best practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred.
- Prior experience working in a medical office or outpatient clinic setting preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient interactions.
