Position summary:
Junior Mechanical Engineer – Raleigh, NC
Seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer based in Raleigh, NC motivated to grow and excel with the support and direction from an interdisciplinary team of engineers. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn developing conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs, drawings and specifications for the following disciplines:
- Fire protection (performance specifications)
- Plumbing
- Mechanical and piping.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Under the direction of a Senior Engineer
- Compile and edit technical documents and proposals
- Perform technical calculations with support from senior engineers
- Complete deliverables within the agreed scope, timelines and budget
- Possess business writing expertise with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable working in a multi-discipline setting, with ability to coordinate and communicate with each discipline
- Evaluate and select equipment, technologies and suppliers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 0-3 years’ experience
- Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards including ASHRAE, ACGIH and NFPA
- Familiarity with ISPE and HACCP requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Food and Beverage industry is a plus.
10-20% travel is expected for this position.
