What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Lawn Event Coordinator position at Larz Anderson Auto Museum?
The Larz Anderson Auto Museum has been operating as a center for cultural and educational programs since 1949. The mission of this 501 C(3) nonprofit institution is to educate the community and our visiting patrons on the importance of the automobile throughout history and the impact that the car makes on society to this day. Through educational programs, Lawn Events and lectures, the Museum has educated the community on this subject. As a nonprofit we rely on the help of volunteers and interns to help ensure the longevity of our museum and our success.
From May to October, the Larz Anderson Auto Museum hosts up to 27 Lawn Events that feature specific makes, models and genres of automobiles. We are looking for part time staff to help us at these shows with set up, break down, working the front gate, monitor parking, contacting potential sponsors, and helping to manage interns and volunteers. The Assistant Lawn Event Coordinator will work directly with the Lawn Event and Education Manager to ensure the success of every show during the season.
The candidate must be able to work in a team setting, work independently, able to lift heavy objects, have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and possess money handling skills.
It is highly recommended that this individual has a reliable source of transportation to the Museum. Since the shows primarily fall on Sundays and Saturdays, weekend hours are required. This is a seasonal position from May to October. Knowledge of cars is a requirement. 6 -15 hours a week.
