Lasell University, School of Health Sciences, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee our science labs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment while supporting faculty members and ensuring a positive experience for students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day-to-day operations of all labs, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and forensic science.
- Ensure that lab equipment and supplies are well-maintained and readily available for experiments and demonstrations.
- Prepare chemical solutions and biological media from stock supply.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to create a secure and controlled laboratory environment.
- Work closely with faculty to support lab activities that align with the curriculum.
- Collaborate with instructors to develop and improve lab exercises, ensuring they meet educational objectives.
- Maintain an organized inventory of chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide training and support to faculty and students on proper laboratory techniques and equipment usage.
- Assist in the preparation and setup of laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
- Stay informed about safety regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities to obtain necessary permits and certifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a laboratory management role or a similar position.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in laboratory settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
