What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Lasko?
Essential Functions
- Work directly with the Quality Manager and Quality Engineers along with manufacturing team in order to execute our quality system and plant initiatives.
- Identify and communicate quality issues effectively and timely to the quality and manufacturing teams.
- Perform routine hourly inspections which includes measuring Molded grills, bases, blades, and other plastic parts.
- Measure and document certain critical to quality attributes of the parts.
- Follow standard work and standard operating procedures for inspections.
- Perform and manage the testing and auditing of components and finished products.
- Follow nonconforming material processes and support Material Review Board process. Including sorting and inspection for defects.
- Coordinate daily inspection and testing of components and products.
- Training of inspectors in new work cells and processes.
- Assist with customer complaints and quality issues.
Competencies and Abilities
- Basic practical experience in Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Experience using quality measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, scales, and other test equipment.
- Lean team member (Kaizen) participant.
- Must have fundamental working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, such as reading and understanding of Sampling plans, AQLs, and other basic quality concepts.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Certifications and Special Requirements
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt desired.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification desired.
Required/Desired Education and Experience
- High School Graduate required
- Technical Trade, Community college, or equivalent experience desired
- 1-3 Years of inspection experience in quality area of a manufacturing facility required
- Plastic Injection molding experience desired
- Assembly line experience desired
