CASE MANAGER FOR YOUTH INTERVENTION PROGRAM
LATINO CIVIC ALLIANCE (LCA) is a statewide 501c.3 organization that promotes advocacy and civic engagement in Washington State by encouraging social responsibility and public service. LCA prioritizes cultural competency, equity, and inclusion of all people.
LCA Youth Case Manager to serve Federal Way WA/South King County area and to support and mentor youth to address and reduce gang and gun violence activity and support youth families to create safer communities. This position will provide advocacy and support to youth who have been identified as gang-involved by school districts, Law Enforcement agencies, Behavioral health providers Juvenile Courts, and Prosecutor’s office. This position will assist youth and their families in successfully maneuvering through systemic barriers and participating in services throughout the community focused on completing secondary education, job and apprenticeship training, mental health, and recreation. This position will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to 15 youth while providing individual and group services. Services provided will focus on increasing youth involvement in productive and meaningful activities while decreasing gun and gang involvement.
Functions
- Conducts outreach and program enrollment, referrals to community partners, individual goal plans, and any other required reports for the purpose of fulfilling grant requirements.
- Serves as an advocate for the purpose of securing social services, education, life skills, job training, recreational activities, etc. for program youth.
- Provides positive social role modeling and connections to healthy adults/mentors for the purpose of increasing and strengthening ties within the community.
- Participates in interagency intervention team meetings for the purpose of providing the information needed to complete accurate youth risk and needs assessments. Performs crisis intervention and response under the direction and supervision of the program director following episodes of violence because of gang activity within the community.
- Works closely with a youth-identified support system(s) for the purpose of achieving and celebrating the accomplishment of goals.
- Attend school district or community partner meetings for the purpose of sharing youth accomplishments and program achievements, troubleshooting barriers, discussing needs, and identifying additional resources within the community needed for youth/program success.
- Co-facilitates groups with the student and family members focused on employment skill building, stress management, and other youth-identified topics related to life skills.
- Participates in required LCA training
- Prepares a variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting program activities and data and tracking outcomes and progress toward member and program goals and objectives.
- Supports other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective team.

Required: valid drivers license and auto insurance
Experience/Professional background: BA/BS in criminal justice, behavioral health or social services preferred. Relevant lived experiences may substitute education. Spanish speaking preferred.
Qualifications for Case Manage Position
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience working in an educational setting preferred
Flexible hours
Advanced technical proficiency: experience with interactive platforms like Zoom, Google platforms such as Google Classroom, Gmail, Microsoft Office, ASANA is a plus
Professional demeanor
Must pass a criminal background check
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Great interpersonal and social skills
Passion for and excellent with 6-12 grade students
Strong leadership and support skills
