  • The LCDA is looking for a Compliance Officer to manage our full-cycle people operations. They will have an emphasis on developing policies and procedures. The Compliance Officer will also be responsible for staff development, compliance, policy implementation, safety and security, and another assigned task by Supervisor’s request. Definition The Compliance Officer is responsible for a wide range of activities involving program development and implementation, employee training, investigations, and all other matters involving compliance and ethics. The position works closely with the management team, as well as the Health & Safety Officer. She communicates with all levels of the organization on a daily basis and therefore is to be a professional representative of the company. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree. (2) years of experience. Working knowledge of all laws/regulations. Social service experience is preferred. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Must be able to complete the Intent to Survey six months before our CARF certification expires (once every three years). 2. Must be able to complete the CARF application on Customer Connect (once every three years). 3. Must be able to maintain communications with the CARF surveyor assigned to determine how and when he/she wants the documentation needed for the CARF visit (once every three years). 4. Must be able to complete and submit the Quality Improvement (QI) Plan (once every three years). 5. Must be able to manage and maintain up-to-date CARF Customer Connect data web application (as needed). 6. Must be able to prepare staff meeting assignments for the year (once per year) and to coordinate changes when necessary throughout the year. 7. Must be able to prepare the annual Competency-Based Training Log for all employees (once per year). 8. Must be able to maintain track of all annual Competency-Based Training Logs on a monthly basis and to ensure that any new staff also receive their training log. 9. Must be able to send notifications to staff on a monthly basis about the policies to be read for the staff meetings. 10. Must be able to maintain and update all staff email list when changes occur. 11. Must be able to ensure that the staff that is in charge of the staff meeting understands their responsibilities in leading the meeting, which include preparing the agenda, sign-in sheet, has a pre-approved presenter, has the anniversaries and birthdays and at the end of the staff meeting turns in the meeting’s minutes. 12. Must be able to prepare and/or secure a presenter for our staff meetings on issues related to the CARF policies. 13. Must be able to distribute quizzes and training logs to staff who were absent during the staff meeting. 14. Must be able to prepare and score the quizzes of the Competency-Based trainings. 15. Must be able to keep the staff meeting’s binder up-to-date on a monthly basis, ensuring that a memo (when appropriate), agenda, minutes, handouts (when appropriate), and sign-in sheet are filed away. 16. Must be able to complete the Annual Conformance to Quality Report (Once per year) 17. Must be able to make changes and updates in our policies as needed according to the CARF Standard’s Manual on an annual basis. 18. Must be able to create policies as needed according to CARF changes in the Standard’s Manual on an annual basis. 19. Must be able to establish, implement and maintain LCDA’s corporate compliance for CARF purposes. 20. Must be able to investigate and follow-up on all formal grievances/written complaints (including reports using the Employee Problem Resolution process, Consumer Problem Resolution process, and Code of Conduct Reporting process) and provide a written analysis of these. 21. Must be able to investigate, follow up, and document all suspected HIPAA violations (including reports using the Code of Conduct Reporting process) and provide a written analysis of these. 22. Must be able to follow-up on items turned into the suggestion box. 23. Must be able to coordinate the quarterly Q&A meetings with the Executive Director and Management Team. 24. Must be able to complete and update the Q&A document on a quarterly basis. Responsibilities: To assist the Leadership Team in driving a culture that prioritizes integrity, safety, compliance, and stewardship. To assist employees in understanding their role in achieving compliance and ethics outcomes through communications, formal training design and delivery, development of employee tip tools, and responsiveness to employee concerns and questions. To maintain a comprehensive Compliance Program including Code of Conduct, Compliance and Ethics Program Document, and necessary Compliance Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Processes. To ensure all relevant risks are addressed through proper control strategies. To assist leadership and employees in the implementation of all requirements.
