The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking for an Air Intercept Controller (AIC) to support our government customer located in Kekaha, HI.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The AIC can easily control multiple fixed wing aircraft and helicopters in live or simulated operations. The AIC possess broad knowledge of aircraft control procedures, basic radar theory, radio transmission procedures, terrain, aircraft capabilities and flight safety.
- Individual will control multiple aircraft in live or simulated missile firing operations. Such duties include:
- Participates in pre-operational planning meetings and briefings to gather detailed information of operational requirements and air intercept events
- Interfaces with government counterparts and other Amentum elements to determine missile line-up, safe firing bearings and distances, and target flight scenario
- Operates and interprets radar display devices to control aircraft
- Uses established communications procedures and brevity codes in the control of missile firing aircraft
- Performs ASTAC, RCC and ICC duties when required
- Performs aerial target coordinator functions when required
- Operates at remote Electronic Warfare (EW) sites to coordinate aircraft during EW events
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor

- Environment: Customer contact, Extended Work Day, Office Laboratory & Field Assignment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must satisfactorily complete the AIC course conducted at fleet training activities designated by the Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET) prior to assignment as an AIC.
- Three years’ experience in controlling air intercepts is required
- Prior to assignment to the AIC position, the individual must be qualified in accordance with OPNAVINST 1211.2 Series
- Additional certification must also be obtained in accordance with provisions of PMRFINST 3722.1 prior to controlling air intercepts without supervision
- Must demonstrate knowledge of aircraft control procedures, basic radar theory, radio transmission procedures, terrain familiarity and aircraft capabilities/limitations and requirements for flight safety
- Must be able to carry portable field radios in rough terrain during remote site EW operations
DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- High School or equivalent
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
Salary : $37,500 - $47,500
