Growing law firm in the University area seeks an entry-level associate attorney. Case load will primarily consist of family law cases in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties, but training will be available in multiple other practice areas including: immigration, elder law, guardianship, and criminal law. Heavy court work involved. MUST HAVE A HIGH INTEREST AND COMFORT-LEVEL IN LITIGATION. If you are not comfortable appearing in a variety of courtrooms (multiple counties and practice areas), this is not the right fit.
Firm employs a team approach to all cases, so the successful candidate must be comfortable working with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants who will perform various functions in each case.
Firm is willing to consider a recent law graduate with the right attitude, aptitude and practice-area interests. We are willing to train the right candidate in our practice areas, but some courtroom experience and familiarity with the rules of evidence and procedure is preferred. Must have a high degree of interest in being in a variety of courtroom settings. Must be able to learn quickly and be extremely detail-oriented and organized.
Must currently be licensed to practice law in NC. Salary dependent upon relevant work experience and benefits selected.
Excellent collegial work environment with no requirement for minimum hourly billing. Regular expected work week is 45-48 hours.
