## Job Description: Gunsmith at Law Weapons Inc.
### **Position Overview**
Join our expert team at Law Weapons Inc., where you will perform repairs and modifications on firearms. Your role will involve the use of hand tools and machinery to install parts such as metallic or optical sights, pistol grips, and recoil pads. Additionally, you will refinish wooden stocks for rifles and shotguns using hand sanding and special finishing oils and lacquers.
### **Requirements**
- **VALID FOID CARD REQUIRED**: Do not apply if you do not have a valid FOID card.
- **Experience**: Proven experience as a gunsmith or completion of an accredited gunsmithing program.
- **Skills**: Excellent mechanical, woodworking, and metalworking skills. Must be able to safely use various gunsmithing tools.
- **Attention to Detail**: Cautious and detail-oriented.
- **Legal Knowledge**: Knowledgeable about gun control laws.
- **Physical Capability**: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- **Stress Management**: Ability to work under stressful situations and meet deadlines.
- **Communication**: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- **Organizational Skills**: Proficiency in time management and organizational skills.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Familiarity with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
### **Responsibilities**
- **Firearm Repairs and Modifications**: Inspect, modify, adapt, and repair firearms to ensure they are safe and functional.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of all work performed on firearms.
- **Assembly and Inspection**: Assemble firearms and inspect them for mechanical issues.
- **Customer Service**: Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively about the nature of work being performed.
- **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and firearms transactions.
- **Work Area Maintenance**: Keep the work area clean and organized.
- **Compliance**: Adhere to loss prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures.
- **Additional Tasks**: Perform other duties as assigned.

- **VALID FOID CARD AND NO FELONY BACKGROUND**
- **Tool Proficiency**: Familiarity with hand tools used in gunsmithing, including calipers, micrometers, bore/pin gauges, torque wrenches, sight adjustment tools, and headspace gauges.
- **Time Management**: Strong time management and organizational skills.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).

- **Pay**: $500 to $750 per week, depending on experience.
