Lawrence Family Development, Inc is looking for an experienced Facilities Director. As our Facilities Director, you will oversee the facilities maintenance, operation, and security as well as the custodial staff for Lawrence Prospera's real estate and leased properties. As our Facilities Director, you will be responsible for ensuring the facilities are clean, up to code, and operational; as well as be responsible for ongoing inspections and evaluation of property, managing projects and contractors, communicating with staff, working with third-party vendors by providing training/professional development to staff and training new employees.
Duties will include project management, budgeting, safety and security, and financial management utilizing a collaborative approach with all stakeholders and city.

- Implement a preventive maintenance plan for all school and administrative buildings, prioritize projects and improve response and tracking of all maintenance requests to ensure no disruption of operations
- Maintain an inventory and recommend purchases for custodial supplies, tools and equipment
- Perform and/or oversee daily operations, routine inspections and correct issues of building maintenance and/or cleanliness
- Oversee minor and major repair work as assigned
- Coordinate and schedule repairs with outside contractors for all buildings and/or facilities (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.)
- Manage maintenance and facility vendors and act as liaison between the agency, accounts payable and vendors
- Ability to read Architectural plans and interpret maps, plans diagrams, blueprints and specifications.
- Ensure proper maintenance of all school equipment (vehicles, lawnmower, snow blower, etc.) in appropriate working order
- Coordinate seasonal landscaping and maintenance of all premises such as lawn care, plowing, shoveling and sanding all sidewalks, driveways and parking areas as needed
- Collaborate with the department supervisor as well as the Director of Nutritional Services to support organizational leadership and special events for all school-wide and non-profit events including, but not limited to, Opening Day, Orientation, High School Fair, Field Days, Board Meetings, Awards Night, Graduations as well as any other special events that require set up
- Partner with administration staff to prioritize and respond to maintenance requests through Help-Desk Tickets
- Solid understanding of building permit process through City Government
- Serve as primary point of contact for emergencies after hours
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or valid Massachusetts General Contractor License
- Experience in general school and facilities maintenance and operations
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in maintenance and custodial operations
- Ability to make minor and major repairs and operate power machines, lawnmower, snow blower, etc.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
- Proficient computer skills
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Bilingual (Spanish) would be ideal and is preferred
