Job Title: Machine Operator – 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks
Position Description:
At LayerZero, the Machine Operator will be essential in maintaining the efficiency and quality of our production processes. The role involves operating and monitoring machinery to ensure products are manufactured to exact specifications while adhering to safety standards. The Machine Operator will handle machine setup, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime. Attention to detail and adherence to quality control protocols are critical to meet production goals. This position requires a proactive individual who collaborates effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely setup and operate machines and equipment
- Monitor machines during operation to detect any issues or malfunctions
- Adjust machine settings as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any production issues
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous related experience in a manufacturing environment and use of power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines and quality standards in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and blueprints
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a machine operator
- Technical or vocational training in machinery/ manufacturing is a plus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions
- Familiarity with computerized control systems and automated machinery
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
