What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at LDP?
Civil Site Work construction centered organization is looking for someone who is detail orientated, motivated, sharp, positive, flexible, organized and has excellent communication and follow up skills. The candidate should be a problem solver, work with little supervision, work well under pressure and complete assignment deadlines on time. On any given day, you will be multi-tasking, providing support to the team.
Job Duties include, but not limited to:
- Do take offs and accurately estimate costs for each project to achieve a targeted profit margin.
- Interprets blueprints and drawings to ensure all project work meets specifications.
- Compile bids from suppliers and subcontractors for projects
- Communicate and provide customers with an estimate in a timely manner.
- Upon acceptance of a new project, complete contract information and necessary documents and provide to customer. Create a schedule for targeted completion dates for each phase of the project.
- With a signed contract, award suppliers and subcontractors with agreements for work. Communicate with trades to provide a schedule for timely completion of projects.
- Attend pre-construction meetings with customers, jurisdictions, and pre-meeting with Superintendent and Site Foreman to relay scope of work, efficient schedule, and possible issues.
- Ensures that permits have been received, and keeps in communication with customers on permits they need to obtain or work they need to schedule.
- Troubleshoot and recognizes problems or situations on projects and assists in finding solutions. Communicates to owner and Superintendent, field staff, and customer.
- Creates change orders and presents them to our customer to be signed prior to performing work.
- Keeps crews accountable on schedules and provides customer updates on production.
- Cultivates relationships with customers, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors. Creates a positive, productive working relationship with the owner, Superintendent, field crew, and accounting department.
- Attends weekly Project Management Meetings to present new requests for estimates, schedules, current job production.
- Weekly approves supplier and subcontractor’s invoices and provides them to the accounting department.
- Weekly updates project completion and provides sales numbers to the accounting department. Monthly, reviews and finalizes billing information for each project and provides to the accounting department for invoicing.
Skills & Qualification Requirements:
- Experience doing earthwork and utilities (3-5 years infield knowledge)
- Experience with Heavy Bid and Heavy Job or equivalent estimating software
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Professional front office conduct and phone etiquette
- Strong customer service
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Reliable and punctual
- Well organized and detail orientated.
- Driven, pro-active self-starter with high standards of quality, enjoys pressure with a “can do” attitude.
- Excellent time management, problem solving and prioritization skills.
- Experience doing earthwork and utilities (3-5 years infield knowledge)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
