Childcare Program Manager

Job Summary: The CPM is responsible for ensuring the program is operating in compliance with OCFS regulations and LE3 best practices. LE3 CPM is NOT responsible for enrollment, billing, recruitment, or collections. We relieve our CPM of these duties to ensure they can focus on the building aesthetic, cleanliness, education, and regulations. In this role, you may help teach children, create lesson plans, organize classroom spaces, and maintain HR policies and procedures among other employees.

Qualifications: the CPM must hold the qualifications listed in the OCFS Regulation for "Person Responsible for Program Supervision Functions."

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field OR enrolled in an education program that leads to a bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of experience working in childcare, with children, and/or in an educational setting
  • One year supervising staff members in a childcare program or related field of work
  • Customer service and/or previous work experiences

Key Responsibilities: In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, all CPM are expected to perform other reasonable duties or tasks as assigned by the administrative team. Basic duties are as follows:

  • Curriculum Expectations: work closely with Activity Coordinators and the administration to ensure there is a clear set of lessons and themes being followed in the program. Support lead AC's by helping write, implement, and curate age-appropriate activities. At times it might be easiest for the CPM to make a supply run to the office for items. It is the CPM's responsibility to decide when/who to delegate tasks to.
  • Daily Responsibilities: above all else, the CPM is expected to ensure there is an organization, and flow, and that each group is maintaining a ratio. The CPM is responsible for making the daily schedule, staff break schedules, ensuring parents are clocking in/out, OCFS inspections and drills are completed, and that all medical reports are signed by parents. At times when there are call in's, it is expected that the CPM will be in a group filling in until coverage can arrive.
  • Program Expectations: the CPM will work closely with the ACPM to dived responsibility to keep the program functioning at its best. Tasks might include redoing all the decor, implementing a series of lessons, onboarding new staff to ensure they have an understanding of policies and procedures, etc. It is ultimately the CPM's primary responsibility to ensure the program environment, curriculum, and staff is meeting LE3’s standard of excellence, the Director will rely heavily on the Assistant Program Manager to regulate and maintain program expectations.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: all paperwork, inspections, and administrative responsibilities fall on the director. The CPM is responsible for maintaining communication between the site, District Supervisor, and the main office. There will be mandatory training each week to ensure competency and allow for questions to be answered.

Training Requirements: There is mandatory training that each CPM must obtain.

  • Within the first week of employment complete the three mandatory OCFS training:
  • Foundations in Health & Safety
  • Mandated Reporter
  • Elijah’s Law
  • CPR/First Aid: Must be current or will obtain these certifications within the first week of their employment. Training will be paid for by LE3 Inc.
  • Attend all other mandatory LE3 training

Hours: Depending on the current CPM's availability and location the hours can vary based on the site needs. Most often the hours would be as follows:

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-6:00pm
  • Contract: 10-month contract with the option to amend the position between the school year and summer program.

Working Conditions: Based on which LE3 location you are at you may have varying working conditions due to the layout of a building. Most buildings cover the following working conditions:

  • Environment: indoor spaces require using stairs to get to, large gym place spaces indoors, outside playgrounds, and uneven sidewalks to travel along for nature walks.
  • Exposures encountered: many LE3 programs have varying noise levels depending on the day, time of year, and activity. Outside of noise level, most of the sense exposures are common. There are times in which lessons/crafts require extra hands and supervision due to being messy (IE. Slime)
  • Essential physical requirements are not limited to but include walking, running, climbing stairs and playground structures, squatting/sitting on the floor, and standing for a minimum of five hours.
  • Physical effort/lifting: up to 20 pounds. Be it supporting children’s needs to be held or helping the director carry supplies from room to room the most an individual would be asked to lift is 20 pounds.
  • LE3 at the moment does not offer regular night/weekend hours. As unique paid events pop up current staff in good standing have the opportunity to pick up extra hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
