Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Handy Man to join our team. The Handy Man will be responsible for being equipped with a wide range of skills to handle various maintenance and repair tasks efficiently, maintaining facilities, fabricating items as needed, and ensuring all equipment is in working order to support our operations. Here are some key areas a restaurant handyman should be proficient in:

Plumbing

• Fixing leaky faucets, sinks, and toilets
• Unclogging drains and pipes
• Repairing or replacing water supply lines and fixtures

Electrical

• Repairing or replacing faulty wiring and outlets
• Installing and maintaining lighting fixtures
• Troubleshooting and fixing electrical equipment

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)

• Basic maintenance and repair of HVAC systems
• Replacing filters and cleaning ducts
• Diagnosing and fixing common HVAC issues

Carpentry

• Repairing or installing doors, windows, and locks
• Building or fixing shelves, cabinets, and other wooden structures
• Handling basic framing and drywall repair

Equipment Maintenance

• Regular maintenance and minor repairs of kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, stoves, refrigerators)
• Troubleshooting and fixing minor issues with appliances
• Coordinating with specialized technicians for major repairs

General Repairs

• Painting and touch-ups to keep the restaurant looking presentable
• Repairing or replacing tiles, grout, and flooring
• Fixing furniture and fixtures

Safety and Compliance

• Ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and regulations
• Conducting regular safety checks on equipment and facilities
• Keeping up-to-date with local health and safety codes

Preventive Maintenance

• Performing routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
• Scheduling and carrying out regular maintenance tasks
• Keeping maintenance records and logs

Miscellaneous Skills

• Basic knowledge of pest control
• Handling minor landscaping or exterior maintenance tasks
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with restaurant staff and management

Requirements:
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant
- Experience in facilities maintenance
- Proactive and communicative and dependable
- Awareness of cost savings and optimization
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
