Position Summary
We have an immediate opening for a Compliance Manager for Special Education. In this role, you will collaborate with the director of special education on high-level processes and personally execute a well-construed and closely inspected compliance program that achieves excellent results for students.
To be successful, you’ll need to be a detail-oriented, initiative taker. We need a broad thinker who can make suggestions, take constructive feedback with a good attitude and without pushback, and then go out and personally execute with diligence. If you like absorbing updated compliance information and creating training to ensure our team is executing with excellence, we’re probably a good fit.
This position is full-time and works from home.
Essential Job Duties
- Supervise documentation analysts by coaching and providing resources for them (such as QA rubrics, tracking reports, structures for data entry, etc);
- Personally inspect at least 10% of special education documents and manage complex feedback cycles until all documents are 100% compliant;
- Direct and assess QA productivity and accuracy of SPED doc analysts and uses results to plan updates to internal training and processes;
- Approve compiled special education files for state or AU audits and corrects any issues that could result in a state audit finding;
- Coordinate the proper tracking and distribution of related service providers, contractors, and companies and assigns and inspect internal invoice and billing reviews;
- Provide input and feedback to related service providers to aid in efficient and functional management of related services for our students including, but not limited to a plan that eliminates ‘no show’ students for IEP meetings, interventions, and related service appointments;
- Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure efficient, managed, and fiscally-prudent external services for identified students, coordinating with students, families, staff, and providers;
- Attend, read, and absorb all training materials from AU, state, and federal authorities and correct any non-compliant training, documents, or processes;
- Instruct and train teachers, special education document analysts, and onboarding specialists on the most up-to-date and accurate methods, documents, and processes to ensure programmatic compliance;
- Coordinate with special education instructional manager(s) to ensure that special education teachers have been trained and are producing compliant IEP documents;
- Actively collaborate with staff to evaluate and improve special education processes, ensure compliance, and meet student needs;
- Establish organized and efficient systems to input, update, and inspect special education data in SIS and IEP systems (including testing systems); and
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Able to manage a team and ensure deliverables are high quality and on time;
- Active listening and problem-solving skills are required to understand AU, state, and federal guidelines and ensure that our programs are compliant;
- Achieve daily performance metrics including but not limited to personally QAing 10% of special education documents.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high energy, team environment and juggle multiple tasks;
- Strict attention to detail; and
- Maintain simple and well-organized special education processes, documentation, and systems.
Qualifications
- Current Special Education Director’s license in any state and the ability to obtain CO & AZ licensure within 6 months;
- Master’s degree in Special Education or related field or equivalent work experience;
- Two (2) years of special education leadership;
- Experience with Mac and Google Suite preferred;
- Experience with EIEP Pro and Enrich/Frontline preferred;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; and
- Ability to pass required background checks.
