LeaseQuery seek an Junior Product Manager to help us research and analyze market opportunities, aka “new ideas.” As part of a newly created team, the Jr PM will perform research, survey and interview potential customers, and work closely with internal stakeholders cross-functionally to perform market analysis, market sizing, competitive analysis, and financial modeling. The company will rely on this work to make critical “fund or kill” decisions on many promising ideas.
They will then define features, write user stories and business requirements, and work closely with developers to create POCs (Proofs-of-Concept) and MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) to validate these ideas. They will then continually iterate and improve the new product and gather and analyze data related to its success. If successful, this will then transition the new product to internal LeaseQuery teams.
The Team:
Newly created in 2020, LQ Labs invents the future for LeaseQuery. We’re charged with creating new products & services which generate revenue 12-18 months from now.
Our team performs four main functions:
- Gather and serve as a repository for new business opportunity ideas, the idea pipeline, aka “ideas radar”
- Research and evaluate these business opportunity ideas to decide on additional investment at the highest speed (“speed kills”) and least cost (think like an entrepreneur vs. big company)
- Validate the ideas by creating POCs (Proofs-of-Concept) and MVPs (Minimum Viable Products)
- Transfer the successful ideas to internal sales, engineering, and product teams
By its very nature, the work is messy and chaotic. We kill more ideas than we move forward. If you enjoy bringing new ideas to life, you enjoy creative chaos, and enjoy moving fast, LQ Labs might be for you.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct research, both primary and secondary, to determine total addressable markets, growth rates, and competitive advantages of new market entries
- Conduct surveys and interviews of potential customers and partners
- Perform valid and reliable analysis, employing realistic assumptions and forecasts, often for marketplaces, business models, or categories which have yet to exist
- Conceive, negotiate, and execute agreements and programs with external parties for POCs
